In light of the current COVID-19 pandemic and severe pressures and restrictions experienced travelling to site, the Flight Safety Group has developed a tried and tested Remote Audit process which fulfils the annual service provider audit requirement within general aviation.
The Flight Safety Group Remote Audit process complies with ICAO remote auditing guidelines (profile extract below) and retains a 2-man audit team that ensures compliance with ISO 9001:2015 Certification Quality Management Systems.

UKCAA CAP 437 (Ed. 8 December 2016 Amendment 01/2018 September 2018)) Inspections: Flight Safety Helideck Certification has trained Inspectors to carry out the helideck inspections in terms of UKCAA CAP 437 requirements, including the required friction test using the Findlay Irvine Micro Grip Friction Tester.

  • Helideck Inspection Awareness Training (HIAT) Course

    March 2022
    in Melbourne

Aeronautical Enterprises and Flight Safety Africa provide detailed Helideck Inspection Awareness Training (HIAT) courses that are based on UKCAA CAP 437 and in addition will include information gleaned from local operations.

The Helideck Inspector Awareness Training (HIAT) course has now been extended to include onshore HLS (Helicopter Landing Site) design and an in-depth profile on HLSO (Helicopter Landing Site Officer) training.

A 'Certificate of Participation' is issued to all participants.

*Accident/Incident Investigation Analysis (AIIA) Courses can be held in conjuction if required. All courses are subject to minimum numbers and date changes.

  • NEW - Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO) Training Course

The Flight Safety Group is conscious of the fact that both time and cost are of great importance to the Oil and Gas companies and have therefore designed our OPITO compliant courses to be both cost and time effective, without forfeiting any of the requirements which ensure the crew members get the maximum benefit from the training.

In addition, to facilitate the offshore training even further, the Flight Safety Group has now converted all applicable offshore training courses to the online platform.

This online HLO accereditation fulfills the OPITO requirement but is applicable for current offshore personnel who hold or have held an HLO Certificate. In other words, personnel who currently fulfill the requirements for the practical OPITO experience requirements.

Personnel who lack the experience or require additional or refresher practical training will be required to complete a separate module - the "HLO Practical Module".
