The Vertiport Safety Training course is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of safety procedures and protocols for the operation of vertiports, specifically focusing on the vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) unmanned aircraft (UA). This course is based on the International Standard ISO 5015-2:2022:2022 Unmanned aircraft systems — Part 2: Operation of vertiports for vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) unmanned aircraft (UA), which serves as a guide for operating vertiports.
Participants will learn about key safety considerations, emergency procedures, and best practices to ensure the safe and efficient operation of VTOL UAs in vertiports.
Aeronautical Enterprises (Flight Safety's Australian training company) and Flight Safety Africa offer a wide range of national and International training options, including onsite group training courses. We can customise our courses to suit your business needs.
Traditionally the Oil and Gas Industry insisted that only OPITO approved courses would be accepted. However, due to the severe restrictions this placed in training options, specifically around the African continent, a revised requirement has now been adopted by the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (IOGP) that has been documented in the latest version of the IOGP Report 690. One of the extracts from this report, which is more fully described in Report 690-3, Support Operations, Section 16 - Helideck - Staff Training:
Report 690-3 Section 16B, Page 113 - “Helideck staff are trained in accordance with OPITO standards or equivalent."
And Section 16C.2, Page 113 - "HLO and Helideck Assistants (HDA) undergo initial and recurrent training every two years in accordance with OPITO standards (or an acceptable alternative standard)."
