With the expansion of the South African aviation industry, Andre joined Armscor in 1984 where he was program manager on various major aircraft acquisition programs for the SAAF. His responsibilities included contracting and oversight of development, manufacturing and delivery, implementation and support within strict financial constraints of both fixed wing and helicopter aircraft systems. Flight Safety and Total Quality were imperatives to be achieved and maintained on these programs. During this period he developed a keen understanding of the environmental requirements for safe aircraft operations.
In 2009 he joined BAE Systems where he worked as Program Manager on military projects.
Andre is a qualified International ISO 9001 Lead Auditor.
He has considerable experience in helideck inspection and certification and consequent report writing and follow-up, working both in Australia, working with Flight Safety Helideck Certification, and in South Africa.

About Andre
Andre joined the South African Airforce (SAAF) in 1968, directly after school. He qualified as a SAAF pilot and flew both fixed wing aircraft and helicopters, initially as a permanent force member, but later also as a civilian force pilot. In 1979 he graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree, specialising in Aeronautical Engineering, from WITS. In the same year he started working at the Atlas Aircraft Corporation (Denel Aviation) as a development engineer.
